My 4 star Review

The book has a gorgeous cover. It was the cover that attracted me.The story is immersed in Bolivian culture,I don't know a thing about so for me it was like reading some exotic one and getting the feel of reading a foreign tongue(there are words and phrases in Spanish). The story has strong woman characters whom I loved till end and a sweet love story to go alongside.

There are many things I loved about this book ;the world its set in is amazing ,the book is filled with history, culture and lore ,magic decoys, weaving, secrets, friendships, love ,tyrants and cute woven animals but somehow its not overwhelming. And there's lots of food descriptions  in this book which makes you desire to be a citizen of La Ciudad. The magic system in the story is fascinating, these people have different gifts. The most spellbinding was Ximena's ability to cut moon thread,it was quite unusual among her people and when she can weave living animals I was much more intrigued.

Action filled scenes and steamy encounters push the narrative forward and will make it really difficult to decide whose side are you on and whom to trust.  The story portrays the message that one should find other point of view for a particular situation and it may change the whole scenario as happens in this one.

There are many themes in the book which are worth thinking. The story is not fast paced but wants you to keep turning pages .The characters felt real with their actions and choices often messy and realistic .They are forced to make hard choices in their lives. The  only thing I  do wish was more romance but nevertheless I am going to recommend it to anyone who reads YA Fantasy or is looking forward to start reading it.I am waiting to read other novels by the author who made an excellent debut in my opinion.

Happy Reading
-xoxo Aditi
