12 Things That Hermione Granger Taught Me

I am a huge fan of Harry Potter series by J K Rowling, both books and movies. I always looked up to Hermione and is without doubt one of my all time favourite literary character. She is beyond beautiful, intelligent and strong .I have read this somewhere(don't remember the place or site) that Hermione was declared as second strongest female character in literature.
Today I was re-watching the HP movies ,so I decided that I want to dedicate a post to a fictional character who taught me so much!

1.Stand up for what you believe in

When Hermione witnessed anything against her beliefs, she didn't stand back and watch. She would step forward and sometimes its the step which is required.Stand up for what you believe in and stand up for what you feel is wrong.I'm pretty sure you've heard this everywhere but now the question is why is it different here? The answer by me is,.not everybody is going to share your ideas all the time but as long as you have good intentions and true hear you are doing right.

2.Always have a witty comeback

A girl has to keep her wits about her if she wants the world to hear her.

Many times Hermione became brains of Ron and Harry when they seem to have misplaced their own, gave them advice and sometimes knocked some sense on them. Even when Malfoy and his gang of bullies always went out their way to give her a rough time, she almost always had a witty comeback. Malfoy wasn't the only victim of her sass- cross Hermione Granger and face the wrath of her sharp tongue.

3.Books are useful

The Harry Potter series encouraged a whole new generation to read more. Hermione was truly the one who emphasized the value of reading. Her extensive knowledge and wits got her and her friends(mainly Ron and Harry) out of trouble across the series. Hermione solved many problems be,it a giant monstrous snake hiding in the castle or the existence of Deathly Hollows, all from reading books.
Whether its reading  to swot up for class or reading just for fun, Hermione's passion for reading is a habit many of us should adopt .
P.S. Along with reading books pay attention in class because it can at times save your life.

4.Stand up to Bullies

Who else enjoyed the scene where Hermione punched Draco?Well I definitely did .Never let anybody walk over you ,stand up for yourself. Its not just for bullies.Apart from bullies stand up those who are disrespectful to you because you should know that such people feed on your fears. So yeah stand up and pull a punch against them(not literally,a verbal one maybe).

5.Be Humble

Inspite of being Miss Know-It-All Hermione did ask help from her friends as well as others. She brought out the truth in the statement ,the more you know, the humble you become. As my father always says ,a tree laden with fruits is more bent than a bare one.

6.Care About Your Studies

I don't know how to really explain this but Hermione reminds us the importance of studying and learning. From spending her free time in library to know about spells, potions and plants ,she demonstrates why learning is so important. She depicts that Hard work does really pay off.She taught me that sitting inside is okay, not hanging around with your friends is okay because you want to focus on your studies.

7.Be Fearless

I think being fearless was taught to us by every Harry Potter character. Hermione goes up against Voldemort,Death Eaters and other mythical creatures. She doesn't turns her back and run away from what's attacking her friends instead stands strong and puts up a fight.
(she is a beauty with brains who knows how to put up a fight)

8.Embrace who you are

Hermione Granger grew up a muggle and despite being thrown into a whole new world filled with magic, witches and wizards, she continues to be herself. She doesn't change herself in order to fit in this new world and never lets anyone degrade her for what she is.

9. Loyalty

Throughout the whole Harry Potter series we can see her undeniable loyalty to her friends. She is selfless and brave and she'll always provide a shoulder to cry on.Her loyalty is uncompromising. She is loyal to her mission to defeat the Voldemort. The bond that the trio- Hermione,Ron and Harry have is unbreakable. She teaches us that friendship is extremely valuable.

10.Be Selfless

We always see Hermione keep other before herself ,be it erasing her parents memory to  save them from Voldemort or telling Sirius Black "If you want to kill Harry ,you'll have to kill us too"

11.You deserve Respect

We all know that she wanted Ron to ask her for the dance but instead of crying and feeling sad when Ron couldn't bring up the courage to do so ,she gets herself a date and looks stunning.Hermione always knew what she wanted and wasn't afraid to ask it.She taught me a very important lesson that never settle for anything less than the respect you deserve.
She also taught us to not stress over boys.

12.It's LeviOsa,not LeviosAR!

You can't spell Hermione without heroine. She is one of the favourite female literary characters.
